Details
* Alaska Mobility, LLC only services the mobility conversion of your vehicle.
* If your vehicle needs service, we offer a wheelchair accessible van rental until your vehicle is repaired by our mobility technician.
* If the vehicle you purchased through us is in for warranty repairs or simply just in for preventative maintenance we often times have a complimentary wheelchair accessible vehicle available and offer it to you at no charge while we have yours in for service. This is a courtesy offer as we do know that you need independence and this is based on whether we have one. Seasonal rentals may affect availability
Aside from servicing your mobility vehicle and equipment, there is at-home maintenance you can perform to keep them riding smooth.
Equipment Options
Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles
maintenance you can perform to keep them riding smooth.
- Inspect door track and ramp for debris
- Inspect battery for debris
- Inspect tie-down tracks for debris
- Regularly clean door track (shop vac is handy for this) to prevent future problems
- Be sure to have a good battery as these vehicles can be sensitive to voltage
Scooter/Power Wheelchair Maintenance
maintenance you can perform to keep them riding smooth.
- Do not let the battery freeze. At extremely low temperatures, the batteries may freeze causing your power scooter to be inoperable. At higher temperatures, the scooter/power wheelchairs may operate at slower speeds due to a safety feature that prevents damage to the motors and other electrical components
- The batteries cannot be charged if they were discharged to nearly zero voltage
- If the scooter or power chair is not in use, plug it in and unplug/replug once a month to maintain the battery
- Should your scooter or power chair need new batteries Alaska Mobility can replace them.
